The rough-in kit contains 6 pans used to mount your Bose Professional DM5C or FS4CE speakers in any unfinished hard-deck ceiling (such as drywall, gypsum, or plaster) before the ceiling is constructed.
The pan has multiple pre-drilled mounting holes to align to different stud spacing and to accommodate different loudspeaker orientations and placements. Once the ceiling has been finished, the pan is used as a guide to cut a hole in the ceiling material after which the loudspeaker can be mounted to the pan for installation.
