Product Overview

Erick Hansel, is one half of the dynamic guitar duo of the band CHON. Having been an Ibanez Artist for years, he's now collaborated closely with Ibanez to develop his signature model, the EHM10. Strongly inspired by Ibanez AZ series models, this great ax also includes Erick’s personal touches to ensure that it's designed to match his versatile playing style.

The EH10TGM has a shallow body back contour combined with a big forearm contour which makes the guitar body naturally fit the player, and thus increase playing comfort. The AZ body has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve, enabling easier playing both sitting or standing. Its AZ Roasted Maple neck is Heat-treated, increasing the wood‘s stability, durability, water resistance and temperature change tolerance. The Jatoba fretboard, with a reddish-brown color, produces a rich mid range with a crisp high end. In order to achieve top-quality neck grip comfort, the fretboard edge is finished with a smooth curve. The Super All Access Neck Joint provides superior playability with an 8mm concave curve from the body top to the spherical surface of the joint area. By maximizing the body/neck joint area, the instrument's sustain and resonance are increased as well. The Seymour Duncan® Alnico II Pro™ pickup uses a vintage coil wind, and sand-cast alnico 2 rod magnets, delivering a vintage sound and vibe, but with a smoky sweetness on the high end. The Seymour Duncan® Hyperion™ Pickups feature a moderate output through Alnico-5 magnets to keep the clarity of the fundamental tone when using a distortion sound, and to deliver a clear pick attack. From treble to bass, the overall tonal balance is evenly adjusted, and works well with various effect pedals. The Coil Tap Switch featured on the neck pickup greatly assists in creating a variety of sound with 3-way lever switch. Ibanez T1502 synchronized bridge with Gotoh® Steel saddles and die-cast zinc tremolo block offers quick response and improved articulation. The 10.5mm string spacing enables easy picking across strings, and its snap-in construction makes it easy to load a tremolo arm. Other features include a Graphtech® TUSQ XL nut plus Gotoh® MG-T locking machine heads. A Gig bag is included for instrument protection.

CHON

CHON is a band that has quickly grown from playing local shows in their hometown of San Diego, to earning a spot on the Billboard top 200 and playing on tours with contemporary giants such as Animals As Leaders and Circa Survive. The easiest way to categorize CHON would be "instrumental rock“, but that categorization would not do the band justice. With their debut full-length album ‘Grow’, CHON incorporated many genres including prog, rock and jazz, and featured lightning quick guitar playing, staccato drumming and floaty melodies, inventing a sound that's fresh, exciting and wholly their own. CHON is a band that has truly changed the game when it comes to instrumental guitar-driven music, and they’ve only just begun.
