Product Overview

Ibanez presents this striking professional electric guitar – MAR10 – the signature model of guitarist Mario Camarena, one of the dynamic guitar duo from the band CHON, and the result of his collaboration with Ibanez guitars. It's strongly inspired by the Ibanez AZ model, and it also features some of Mario’s personal touches to make it perfectly designed for his versatile playing style. This quality ax features a versatile sound that's built upon its remakable variety of pickup and switching configurations.

Its big forearm contour along with a shallow body back contour enable the body to more natually fit the player, thus adding to its playing comfort. The AZ body has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve, so it's easier to play either standing or sitting. Its Heat-treated Roasted Maple neck increases the wood‘s stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. The Roasted Maple fretboard with Sharktooth inlays has also been Heat-treated. It delivers a well-balanced tone and attack with rich sustain. Its fretboard edge is finished with a smooth curve for ultimate neck grip comfort. The Super All Access Neck Joint brings superior playability with its 8mm concave curve from the body top to the spherical surface of the joint area. By maximizing the area of the joint between body and neck, sustain and resonance are enhanced as well. Its Seymour Duncan® Hyperion™ Pickups feature a moderate output through Alnico-5 magnets to retain the fundamental tone clarity when using a distortion sound, and to deliver a clear pick attack. From treble to bass, the instrument's overall tonal balance is evenly adjusted and works well with various effect pedals. The dyna-MIX 9 switching system with Alter switch offers nine (9) sound variations, and is easily switchable between humbucker and single coil modes using just the mini switch. One mode can even simulate the sound of a humbucker from the combination of the 2 single coil pickups. The included Ibanez T1502 synchronized bridge features Steel saddles (made by Gotoh®) and a die-cast zinc tremolo block for a quick response and improved articulation. The 10.5mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings. Snap-in construction makes it easy to load a tremolo arm. Other features include Graphtech® TUSQ XL nut and Gotoh ® MG-T locking machine heads. And finally, this great instrument includes a Gig bag for instrument protection.

CHON

CHON is a band that has quickly grown from playing local shows in their hometown of San Diego, to earning a spot on the Billboard top 200 and playing on tours with contemporary giants such as Animals As Leaders and Circa Survive. The easiest way to categorize CHON would be "instrumental rock“, but that categorization would not do the band justice. With their debut full-length album ‘Grow’, CHON incorporated many genres including prog, rock and jazz, and featured lightning quick guitar playing, staccato drumming and floaty melodies, inventing a sound that's fresh, exciting and wholly their own. CHON is a band that has truly changed the game when it comes to instrumental guitar-driven music, and they’ve only just begun.
