With the HR4S-R2 8" 3-way powered studio monitor, Ocean Way Audio brings high-resolution accuracy to all your studio monitoring needs. Featuring a twin constant directivity horn design, the HR4 yields a perfect 100 degrees of full-range dispersion. That means in front of this speaker the entire room is the sweet spot, no matter where you stand! You get this balance regardless of where the HR4 is placed in the room or the distance from the listener. No other speaker can do that.

The horns are milled out of solid blocks of wood that are totally nonresonant for greater efficiency. This means the speaker doesn't have to work as hard and requires half the power of a conventional design, yielding extremely low distortion, even at its loudest. The result is a natural sound without harshness or coloration. They look like horns, but they don't sound like horns.

The cabinets feature an 8" woofer with a rear-ported design that extends the wavelength of the bass in smaller rooms producing clear, defined lows down to 35Hz. A bi-amped design provides 125 watts to the woofer and directs 125 watts to the high-frequency driver to keep distortion from underpowering at bay while listening at higher levels.

And if you're going to listen at high levels you'll want more low end, so the HR4S also includes the S12A, a separate cabinet loaded with a 12" low-frequency driver. The S12A can be placed where desired, or you can mount the HR4 to it with an optional stand (sold separately)
