The Sennheiser SL Handheld DW is a transmitter for the SpeechLine Digital Wireless Microphone System, designed exclusively for speech- and lecture-related applications. This handheld transmitter is easy to use, and provides a range of benefits to novice wireless system users – like optimal speech intelligibility, advanced 256-bit AES encryption, and license-free operation within the 1.9 GHz range. The transmitter also shares features of the Speechline DW system itself – including automatic frequency-, interference- and audio-level management.

The transmitter runs on Li-Ion battery technology, can operate up to 20 RF channels range (dependent on local regulations), and has app-based remote monitoring and maintenance available for iOS or Android via the Wireless System Remote. It also features automatic sensitivity adjustment, a mute switch - which can be deactivated via the user interface – and an LC display showing wireless link name, battery status, and reception quality. Better yet, the unit comes with a microphone head (Sennheiser MME 865-1) for use with the handheld transmitter.
