A big part of where the "SSL sound" came from, the 4K legacy button can help define an input before it hits the 24-bit/192kHz AKM converters. These premium high-resolution converters capture every nuance the pre-amps deliver, and convert it back just as precisely to your monitors or headphones.

The I/O section of the SSL 2 features a pair of XLR-1/4" combo inputs, L/R stereo outs, a headphone output, and USB port. The SSL 2+ adds a pair of RCA outputs along with MIDI I/O to increase its versatility. A pair of high-current headphone outputs have plenty of power to drive a wide range of phones, producing a consistent listening experience with no distortion. Each phone output has its own volume control and can be configured to deliver separate mixes.
