Soundiron's Waterharp is a one-of-a-kind percussion and effects instrument library that captures the essence and soul of the waterphone. Originally developed by Richard Waters in the late 1960s, this unique instrument features a resonator bowl or pan with bronze rods of varying lengths and diameters surrounding it. The resonator can be filled with water so when the rods are strummed, struck, or bowed, ethereal harmonic tones textures are created. The Soundiron Waterharp is a multi-sampled instrument library that explores every nuance and hidden musical potential of this incredible instrument. The library was created by playing the Waterharp with different mallets, sticks, metal rods, fingers, palms, bows, and even voices. The recordings were made both with the water chamber empty and full of water and even from the inside out using hydrophones. The library includes a wide selection of ambient soundscapes, pads, drones, ambiances, and atmospheres created using recordings and various creative sound design techniques.
