The Stereo Tracking Bundle from Rupert Neve Designs gets your 500-series rack journey off on the right foot. It comes with a pair of 511 preamps to load into the included six-space rack along with four blank panels to use as placeholders until you purchase more 500-series modules. The 511 readily accepts line or mic level sources with ease thanks to a 12-step 0-66dB gain knob that handles a balanced input signal of more than +20 dBu without an input attenuator pad. An in-line trim control offers fine-tuning of your input levels if needed. A switchable high pass filter with a 12dB per octave slope effectively mitigates the impact proximity effect, HVAC noise, structure rumble, and the truck in the alley can have on your tracks. But the real magic lies in the Silk control. Engage the circuit and bask in the enhanced harmonic content that adds air and character to vocals, strings, pianos, and other acoustic instruments. The pure analog saturation can be dialed in to taste, replicating some of Neve's legendary designs but with full control. A pair of 511s makes the perfect path for drum overheads, room mics, or any other stereo tracking you want to experiment with.
