Pure North American Hard Rock Maple shells offer the full DW acoustic experience in a classic live or studio setting. A quick conversion, and you'll be pounding it out on a completely wireless top-of-the-line e-kit that's ideal for silent stage gigs, rehearsals, or woodshedding at home. All components are included to convert from acoustic to electric and back with ease as your commitments require. DWe technology gives you the best of both worlds. A true bearing edge provides the feedback of an audible low-level tone for pitch verification when when using the electronic heads, and proprietary VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) orientation reduces tension on the shell yielding low-end punch mixed with maximum resonance and attack when converted to acoustic. There are no cables or wires to hook up. Install the included DW Soundworks™ software then sit down and play. The drums connect to your computer through a low-latency wireless connection via the provided DrumLink USB hub. The hub can also convert wireless signals into MIDI data for DW Soundworks or third-party software integration.

With intuitive features like the digiMAG snare throw-off, pressure-sensing cross-stick detection, and pitch bend capabilities, playing the DWe kit feels as natural as playing an acoustic drum set. Enjoy up to 10 zones and 16 velocities per drum to capture every dynamic nuance of your playing and faithfully deliver it. The combination of pure maple shells mounted with the STM™ suspension system and graduated hoops, coupled with real metal cymbals (sold separately) featuring 3 playing zones, edge choke, and 360-degree playing surfaces allows you to play without altering your style.
