3Dio FS Free Space Binaural Microphone

Put listeners into the recording space they are listening to with the Free Space Binaural Microphone from 3DIO. For the most natural-sounding 3D recordings, you need to record sound the way you hear it, with two ears.

3DIO's Free Space microphone has a pair of omnidirectional microphone capsules that pickup sound via two silicone ears. The 3DIO ears detect and direct sound the way our ears do, helping to pinpoint the location of a sound. To gain full advantage of true binaural recording the listener must use headphones because stereo speakers can't reproduce the detailed directionality.

Easy to use, Free Space has a 3.5mm output that can be used with a standard male-to-male 3.5mm TRS to TRS cable (sold separately). For use with interfaces, recorders, mixers, and some cameras, simply use the included 3.5mm to dual 1/4" splitter cable. No special gear is required, you already have the Free Space! The microphone also includes two silicone ears to accurately pick up reflections and direction. A 9V alkaline battery provides power to the microphone capsules for over 300 hours of recording.

Free Space mounts easily on a microphone stand with the included 1/4"-20 to 5/8" adapter, or you can hot-shoe mount it using the 1/4"-20 female threaded mount hole on the bottom of the microphone. And when you're finished, just put Free Space in its molded case, and you're off to the next location, safe and sound.
