The innovative SRND-360 is a very compact, versatile single-unit surround microphone that can record up to six channels simultaneously using only three microphone capsules.

This is accomplished through the use of a separate power unit that processes the signals from the three Milab 2900 rectangular capsules creating three additional virtual capsules in the spaces between the physical ones. The processing results in six cardioids at 60-degree spacing that can be mixed down to a number of different formats such as 5.1, 6.1, or 2.1. Achieving the surround function does not produce any compromise in the sound quality.

The SRND-360 is built around the same capsule and amplifier as the DC-196 and DC-96C, so connecting just one of its capsules turns the SRND-360 into a conventional large diaphragm condenser that is exceptional for vocal, guitars, etc.
