The Saramonic SmartMic is an ultra-compact directional condenser microphone that plugs directly into the headphone jack on your smartphone or tablet and any device with a TRRS microphone input. Even though it weighs less than an ounce, the SmartMic delivers broadcast-quality sound and dramatically improves the sound quality of the videos you shoot and the sound you capture with your audio recording apps. The SmartMic is the perfect way to record great sound for YouTube Videos, Vlogging, Livestreaming, Podcasting and more.
The SmartMic features a compact directional shotgun capsule lets you focus on sound in front of the mic, while rejecting sound from the behind and sides. Plus, an integrated swivel enables you to point it directly at the sound you want to capture. It features a built-in shock mount that helps you avoid recording unwanted vibration and handling noise. The SmartMic is ultra-compact and lightweight, so you can easily bring it with you everywhere you go, and it will never need batteries or charging.
In addition to being compatible with mobile devices that feature headphone jacks, the SmartMic can also be used with devices that don’t have headphone jacks when you use a Lightning or USB-C headphone adapter (sold separately). It’s an extremely affordable way to give your mobile videos and audio recordings a professional level of sound quality.

My internal mic is not working on my iPad Pro and I wanted to use this as a hack for all the Zoom classes and meetings I have as no one could hear me speak. Folks can definitely hear me with the speaker, however when I can’t hear them with the speaker plugged in. Rats!
