Brainstorm's DXD16 Universal Clock helps make the transition to PTP (Precision Time Protocol) across your network easier, while at the same time imparting more reliability and security.

The DXD16 can operate as PTP primary, secondary, or both, as in the case of a boundary clock. This inherent flexibility makes the DXD16 a perfect choice for new and existing systems looking to run PTP.

Since a stable digital clock is crucial to keeping your network functioning correctly, the DXD16 has built-in redundancy features like alternate clock source input, internal clock battery back-up, and dual power options, both of which can used as a backup in case of power failure. Plus, all functions can be monitored and set to alarm via web browser.

4 Ethernet ports and 16 universal outputs make the DXD16 especially suited to applications involving multiple standards as would be seen in A/V production. The universal outputs can be configured for any of the generated legacy reference signals. This includes all standard SD and HD video sync formats (Black Burst and HD tri-level sync), word clock, and AES-3id (at rates from 32 to 384 KHz, plus all the necessary pull-up/down, including 24:25 conversions, even VSO) and 10MHz.

Brainstorm knows network security is imperative, so The DXD-16 is not a network switch, and therefore no information flows from any network port to any other.
