The Latin Percussion LP234A Afuche / Cabasa, Martin Cohen's second patented invention, was developed over forty years ago. It has since become the most popular hand percussion instrument ever created. Loops of steel bead chain wrapped around a specially textured, stainless steel cylinder that produce a mulitude of scraping rhythmic patterns. The larger the size of the instrument, the louder the volume.

Latin Percussion LP234A Afuche / Cabasa Features:

  • 4-1/2" diameter Afuche/Casaba with wooden frame and handle
  • Wooden flanges enclose the cylinder and a wooden handle is attached to the bottom
  • Designed to create rhythmic scraping sounds and patterns
  • Beads can be rotated around the textured steel or the instrument can be spun or shaken for varying sounds
