Switchcraft plugs & jacks are superb quality and made of heavy duty materials for a long life. I have some that are forty years old and still function like new; they even still look pretty new.

I found these pretty difficult to solder because the tight tolerance of the internal parts and the metal barrel created shorts during final assembly. I had problems until I had a couple attempts under my belt and got a sequence down for working through each connection starting with the ground, then the tip, then the ring. Once I had a system in place everything went smoothly. Used 3/8" 2:1 heat shrink tubing as strain relief on Canare L4E6S cable. Only complaint: attachment ears are too short.
