Arturia COMP-DIODE-609 Dual-Channel Comp/Limit Modeled After Neve 33609 [Virtual]

A dual-channel compressor/limiter with mid-side and sidechain EQ capabilities, the Comp-Diode-609 is an emulation of the venerable and ubiquitous Neve 33609.

If you've heard music in the past 40 years you've heard what the 33609 can do. Now the magic of this revered processor can lend its sonic signature to your tracks.

The Comp Diode 609 can be used to subtly smooth an acoustic guitar, tame an out-of-control snare, glue a mix together, or smash and pump where needed. Modeling it after the 33609 means the Comp Diode 609 will impart an unmistakable vintage analog character to everything it touches.

Arturia also added modern enhancements to satisfy the style and workflow associated with today's production. Use the mid-side processing capability to give a pair of room mics a stereo field you can almost see. Dial up the sidechain EQ to sharpen how the compression is triggered or create a synergistic lock between the kick and bass guitar. If you need a place to start, the Diode 609 comes with dozens of useful presets to start your journey.

The interface and control behavior also pay homage to the original, right down to the classic stepped control knob and switchable VU meter. Of course, tweaking between the lines is highly encouraged, so Arturia included a continuous control mode for detail work.
