Animal photography gets special treatment from Sony's autofocus settings for animals and birds. Eye detection is improved even when the animal's face is upside down. And once you choose the "bird" preset, the α7 IV keeps the eye of your avian subject in clear focus, even during flight.
The α7 IV's brand-new image sensor features a wide dynamic range for smooth images of fast-moving subjects recorded in 4K 60p11 with full pixel readout with no binning. Also when recording in 4K up to 30p you can employ 7K oversampling to yield exquisitely detailed high-resolution footage. There's also support for S-Cinetone™, Creative Look, and Log3 so you can choose the desired creative look and create a smoother post-production workflow.
The best video needs equally impressive audio. Sony included a Multi Interface (MI) Shoe that enables cable-less connection that directly transfers digital audio for high-quality sound with no degradation. MI also supplies power and eliminates the need for mic batteries.
