The IP-SDM-LS speaker with display and talkback provide equally “effective communication”. “Under Title II of the ADA, all state and local governments are required to take steps to ensure that their communications with people with disabilities are as effective as communications with others.”

The IP-SDM-LS indoor wall-mount IP speaker with talkback allows VoIP communication systems to extend tele-presence with improved audio for environments that require network-wide communication and need large speakers to overcome high ambient noise areas or large spaces.

The IP-SDM-LS registers as a communication endpoint directly within InformaCast, and Revolution Advanced Notification applications. It supports audio broadcasts for physical security and improves day-to-day communications with advanced alerting, pre-recorded scheduled announcements, bell schedules, and intercom.

When used in a Cisco Environment, the IP-SDM-LS can join Cisco’s Unified Survivable Remote Site telephony (SRST) as a supported device in the SRST endpoint architecture. Cisco’s SRST provides remote location call-processing when access to their centralized Unified Communications Manager is interrupted due to a WAN outage. The ability of LAN communication between any combination of phones and speakers is critical in an emergency (which may be the actual cause of the WAN outage).

Where 3rd-party notification applications are not required, the IP-SDM-LS speakers can register as SIP devices directly to a SIP service or VoIP Communications Manager for public address/critical alert applications and 2-way communication.
