The series configuration allows 8 Ω signals to be split into two 4 Ω signals (or also 16 Ω into two 8 Ω signals). The parallel option splits a 4 Ω signal into two 8 Ω signals (or also 8 Ω into two 16 Ω signals). An additional line output with level control can be used under any configuration; this is perfect for routing a signal through an effects chain and into a third cabinet, giving you a wet/dry setup.
