Product Overview

With DPA Microphones' 4099-DC-1-101-P piano mic solution, it's easy to achieve a high level of isolation on stage while still providing clean, transparent stereo sound quality along with realistic dynamics. Part of DPA's 4099 series, and designed for use with Loud sound pressure level (SPL) sources, the 4099-DC-1-101-P is a complete system, including a pair of sensitivity-selected 4099 microphones magnetically mounted on goosenecks, enabling the most accurate capture of a piano. With its low profile and unobtrusive design, it's ideal in closed-lid scenarios for capturing true acoustic piano sound in a live environment.

The magnetic mount/gooseneck system offers versatility and provides stable and repeatable positioning; it can easily be positioned at different angles via the flexible gooseneck for reproducing a variety of sound nuances. A flexible design supports a wide variety of mounting and positioning possibilities. Mounts can be implemented on various other instruments with magnetic surfaces, and is designed to never blemish or scratch the finish of your instrument.

A powerful technology at the heart of DPA miniature microphones. From pianissimo to forte, you'll experience a more clear and open sound, with minimized distortion and increased dynamic range. Add another layer of sound quality, from the ‘highest of the highs’ to the ‘lowest of the lows,’ further distancing these mics from their competitors.

With the increasing demand for livestream recordings & performance videos, it's never been more critical to have small form factor tools that won't ruin a DP's vision. Unwieldy stands & large diaphragm condensers with unsightly cables take up a lot of real estate, creating a cluttered look on camera. By using the 4099 system inside a piano, the look is clean & professional. And the sound? Full. Big. Clear. Real. I won't work without them; they've become an integral part of my sonic tool bag.

I have no idea how DPA can create such a small diaphragm that has such a big sound! First, these microphones sound amazing. Second, they have so many different adapters that you can find an appropriate adapter for any instrument (piano, horn, guitar, etc). These are amazing because they are small and can fit in really tight places. These are also great when working with video shoots and you need a great microphone but videographers won't allow a standard mic/boom stand. These are brilliant!

I love these microphones! They sound amazing. The magnet mounts are key! You could pretty much put them anywhere on the harp and they will sound great. I love using them in live environment. Tons of gain.
