Product Overview

The ATW-3211/831 from Audio-Technica is a wireless lavalier/body-pack system that's part of their 3000 Series. It consists of an ATW-T3201 body-pack transmitter paired with an AT831cH lavalier microphone working with an ATW-R3210 receiver.

System Components:

  • The ATW-R3210 receiver is equipped with automatic frequency scanning which automatically selects the most appropriate frequency for the current operating environment, thus eliminating the need to manually search for clear channels. The 25kHz frequency spacing lets the system easily find an open frequency in crowded RF environments, while pre-coordinated frequency scan groups simplify usable-frequency selection in a multichannel wireless system. Selected frequencies can then be synced with transmitters using the system’s IR sync feature. The squelch setting can be configured for automatic adjustment to maximize range while minimizing potential interference. Advanced digital Tone Lock™ squelch provides enhanced interference rejection. In addition, the Tone Lock signal from the transmitter also sends information regarding the transmitter’s battery condition and mute status back to the receiver for display. It includes a dual-mode front panel display that can switch between 2 views — standard view, which provides continuous indication of RF signal strength, frequency, mute status, received signal audio modulation level, plus transmitter information, and performance view, highlighting key meter functions. Settings can be easily modified using the control dial and BACK button located on the front panel, and are also lockable to prevent unwanted adjustment.
  • The ATW-T3201 is a durable metal body-pack transmitter that includes a (defeatable) tactile mute toggle switch allowing physical confirmation of mute status when the transmitter's display may not be visible. It also includes a multifunction button that can be programmed to perform one of two functions when pressed and held: (1) turn off RF transmission or (2) switch to a preselected backup frequency to avoid interference (the multifunction button can also be disabled). An input is available on the transmitter for low-impedance microphone, high-impedance musical instrument or line-level input. It supplies 5VDC bias to power condenser mics. It features a field-replaceable whip antenna, OLED screen, and secure, locking battery compartment door. Charging terminals on the transmitter's base work with the optional ATW-CHG3 and ATW-CHG3N charging docks (sold separately) to recharge AA NiMH batteries. Each transmitter’s screen presents a great deal of setup and operating information, including battery indicator, mute status and operating frequency. Soft-touch controls, which are covered to prevent accidental activation, control menu-driven setup functions, and a dual-color status LED lights up green when power is on and red when the transmitter is muted or battery power is low. Also included is a selectable high-pass filter and a gain setting that can be adjusted in 2dB increments. As with the receiver, settings are lockable.
  • AT831cH Condenser Lavalier Microphone delivers crisp, full-sounding voice pickup and excels as an instrument mic, especially for pickup of acoustic guitar when using the included AT8444 guitar adapter. It offers excellent gain before feedback and background noise suppression. Includes a 55" (1.4m) permanently-attached miniature cable terminated with a screw-down 4-pin connector for use with Audio-Technica cH-style body-pack transmitters.

3000 Series Frequency-Agile True Diversity UHF Wireless Systems

Audio-Technica’s fourth-generation 3000 Series wireless systems give you the power and flexibility to operate within the congested UHF spectrum. 3000 Series systems have an operating range of 300' (100m) and are available in your choice from 2 frequency bands – DE2 (470 – 530MHz) and EE1 (530 – 590MHz) – providing a class-leading 60MHz tuning range, which is more than twice that offered by the previous 3000 Series models. Frequencies can be easily scanned and selected on the receiver and then synced with the transmitter via IR-sync functionality. The 3000 Series even lets you set a backup frequency that can be quickly swapped in the event of unexpected interference.
