Product Overview

Apogee's SYM2-16X16S2-A8MP-SG is a member of their Symphony I/O Mk II system family – a hardware Chassis that provides seamless interfacing with the Waves SoundGrid network, and featuring 16 Analog In +16 Analog Out. It delivers 16 channels of simultaneous I/O.

Ultimate Sound Quality Meets Powerful DSP Enabled NetworkingApogee's Symphony I/O Mk II industry-leading sound quality can easily be connected to your computer as well as shared between multiple rooms and/or computers, plus it can be supercharged with almost infinite real-time DSP power when working with Waves SoundGrid servers – all using a simple ethernet connection. It can smoothly integrate with all DAWs, offering you limitless possibilities and choices for every size of workflow setup: studio, live sound, and post-production.

8-Channel Mic Preamp Module

The Symphony I/O Mk II's mic preamp module comes equipped with 8 uniquely-designed channels, featuring Apogee's Advanced Stepped Gain Architecture™, which include a dynamically-optimized circuit that offers superior bandwidth, ultra-low noise, and simply nonexistent distortion – across an unprecedented 0-85 dB range of gain. So whether you're recording powerful drums to delicate strings to dynamic vocals, your recordings will retain the intricate detail, lifelike dimension, and full impact of the original performance.

It also includes 8 channels of digitally-controlled analog inserts, meaning that outboard processors, such as EQ and compression can be effortlessly inserted into the signal path between the mic preamp and the A/D conversion stage. And because it's all digitally-controlled using Symphony Control software, any insert can be assigned to any input channel; no need to reconnect your outboard equipment physically to a different insert channel.

Symphony I/O Mk II

Including Apogee's flagship AD/DA conversion process, the Symphony I/O Mk II is a multi-channel audio interface that also comes equipped with modular I/O (up to 32 inputs and outputs), as well as intuitive touchscreen display, and optional world-class microphone preamps (preamps available separately). It's the ultimate music production centerpiece for any modern studio, made to bring professional sound quality to audio recording, mixing, and mastering situations. The Symphony I/O Mk II comes with direct connectivity to one of three different platforms – Thunderbolt™, Pro Tools® HD or Waves SoundGrid network (this particular product is the Waves SoundGrid network-compatible version. Thunderbolt and Pro Tools HD configurations sold separately).

You'll find that there's a Symphony I/O Mk II solution that's best for everyone. From home or project studios, on up to commercial recording studios and scoring stages. You can choose from 4 base I/O configurations – 2×6, 8×8, 16×16, or 8×8 – with 8 mic preamps, then easily expand your setup along with your studio as it grows. The Symphony I/O Mk II offers the best per-channel value of any interface in its category with 2 module slots and the capacity for up to 32 inputs and outputs of A/D & D/A conversion per unit.
