The Califone® model 2395IR Infrared Wireless Music Maker™ Plus provides support for phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, ELL, ELD, and other language learning programs. It's reliably built for use in schools, delivering classroom flexibility with dual cassette recorder / players, 20-track programmable CD player and AM-FM stereo.
The Infrared Music Maker Plus can transmit wireless audio from its two bubble-like transmitters located on the top of the unit to any number of wireless headphone-wearing students within a 20' line-of-sight range. It features a jack for connecting a headphone or jackbox for multiple listeners and (2) ¼" jacks to connect external speakers for a wider broadcast. Whenever a headphone or jackbox is connected, the onboard speakers are muted. It's built from rugged ABS plastic (which won't shatter into potentially dangerous shards if it falls, unlike consumer electronics items) to withstand the rigors of daily school use. Its recessed speakers are protected by metal grilles to prevent accidental damage in busy classrooms.
