The Lectrosonics M2R, part of their Duet digital in-ear monitor (IEM) wireless monitor and IFB system series, is a digital IEM/IFB bodypack receiver that incorporates advanced antenna diversity switching during digital packet headers to offer seamless audio. It features a 24-bit digital audio stream that delivers high resolution sound quality with wide dynamic range, low noise floor, and rock-solid stereo image. With this receiver you can select from stereo, mono from left channel only, or mono from right channel only. This gives the unit alot of versatility in usage. Its headphone jack is fed from a high-quality stereo amplifier with 250 mW available for driving headphones or earphones to sufficient levels for stage performance or other situations with significant background noise. A high-resolution, color LCD provides for a wide range of menu options, such as precise limiter settings, using detailed graphics, and its membrane switches all add up to a user-friendly interface. The M2R runs on 2 AA batteries which allow an operating time of over 4 hours when using alkaline cells.
It employs 2-way IR sync, which means scan data from the receiver can be sent to a transmitter and in turn onto the Ethernet network where it can be used by Wireless Designer™ software for frequency planning and coordination purposes. In addition, the M2R includes a FlexList™ mode, where a number of names and associated frequencies can be stored. This is a feature that benefits monitor engineers by allowing quick locating and listening to any of the performers' on stage mixes.
The M2R works with the UHF frequencies of 470-608 MHz in a single range, using digital modulation for transmission. Its housings and panels are machined aluminum with Ebni finishes and laser-etched marking for durability, yet is lightweight and sleek in order to be comfortable on the user's body.
