Part of Lectrosonics' Duet digital in-ear monitor (IEM) wireless monitor and IFB system series, the M2T is a Digital Half-Rack Transmitter with analog network audio inputs, and presents an excellent sounding IEM system with an exceptional level of performance in a wireless IEM. Featuring ultra-low latency 24-bit audio, digital RF modulation, and 2 stereo digital channels, it makes for a truly unique IEM product for demanding, professional usage. It includes a USB port for firmware updates and an IR port for quick setup, and its large, high resolution, backlit LCD and large membrane switches offer an intuitive interface that's highly visible both in daylight or dimly-lit conditions. It provides 4 audio inputs which can be individually configured to be analog or Dante™ compatible (Dante support available separately as a system upgrade. Contact your Sales Pro for more information), and are full-size locking XLR/TRS combo types for balanced line level analog signals. Its input preamp circuits employ a special balanced amplifier with very high common-mode rejection which minimizes noise and hum. Analog signals are converted to an internal 24-bit digital format which is encoded, organized into packets, and then passed to an RF modulator. The modulated RF signal is filtered before and after amplification to provide suppression of out-of-band noise and spurious signals.
Conventional wireless IEMs rely on decades-old technology, that is, FM transmission with multiplexed, companded audio. The M2T Transmitter is equipped with newer, unique technology to deliver 20 Hz to 15 kHz ruler-flat frequency response along with maximum channel separation. In addition, its digital audio eliminates a compandor and its associated artifacts, resulting in crystal-clear sound, rock-solid stereo imaging, and extremely low distortion of <0.05%.
The M2T transmitter chassis, designed and developed with the professional touring, installation, theater, and Broadcast customers in mind, features all-metal construction, with an aluminum extrusion front panel, and a durable powder-coat finish.
