A Digital Half-Rack Transmitter with analog and digital Dante™ network audio inputs, the M2T from Lectrosonics—part of their Duet digital in-ear monitor (IEM) wireless monitor and IFB system series—presents an excellent sounding IEM system with a unique level of performance in a wireless IEM. Its ultra-low latency 24-bit audio, digital RF modulation, and 2 stereo digital channels all make for a truly exclusive IEM product for demanding, professional use. It boasts a USB port for firmware updates and an IR port for quick setup. Plus, its large, high resolution, backlit LCD and large membrane switches offer an intuitive interface that's highly visible both in daylight or dimly-lit conditions. It provides 4 audio inputs which can be individually configured to be analog or Dante compatible, and are full-size locking XLR / TRS combo types for balanced line level analog signals. Its input preamp circuits use a special balanced amplifier with very high common-mode rejection, minimizing hum and noise. Analog signals are converted to an internal 24-bit digital format which is then encoded, organized into packets, and passed to an RF modulator. The modulated RF signal is filtered before and after amplification for suppression of out-of-band noise and spurious signals.
Conventional wireless IEMs rely on decades-old technology, that is, FM transmission with multiplexed, companded audio. The M2T Transmitter incorporates newer, unique technology to deliver ruler-flat frequency response from 20Hz to 15kHz along with maximum channel separation. Also, the digital audio eliminates a compander and its associated artifacts. This results in crystal-clear sound, rock-solid stereo imaging, and extremely low distortion of <0.05%.
Designed and developed with the professional touring, installation, theater, and Broadcast customers in mind, the M2T transmitter chassis features all-metal construction, with an aluminum extrusion front panel, plus a durable powder-coat finish.
