Audio-Technica's ATM230 is a hypercardioid instrument microphone that brings a compact drum model into their Artist Series lineup. This mic’s proprietary capsule design excels in high-SPL (sound pressure level) applications, and delivers full, well-rounded audio with exceptional low-end. The hypercardioid polar pattern keeps it focused-in on the desired sound source — directionality that's aided by its low-profile design, and which allows it to be placed in a wide variety of setups. All this makes it ideally-suited for a range of percussion instruments. Additionally, it features rugged metal build-quality to withstand the rigors of live and studio use.
