Beyerdynamic TG-D50D Cardioid Dynamic Microphone for Drums, Percussion, and Instruments

Beyerdynamic’s TG D50d is a compact, dynamic microphone that is especially useful for miking drums and percussion. Like its big brother, the TG D70d, the TG D50d has a switch to select between LIN (linear) and EQ (equalizer) frequency responses. When switching it to “LIN”, this microphone delivers a linear, natural sound meant for miking toms, snare and other instruments, whereas the “EQ” switch can be used for kick drums, supplying an appropriate frequency response and balance without complicated settings on the mixing console.

Thanks it to cardioid polar pattern, the transducer used in the TG D50d offers the powerful “beyer”-sound with very high gain before feedback. Sound Channeling Technology enhances these traits, with expanded resonance space for exceptionally power sound and special sound holes for a frequency-independent polar pattern. By using the ST 99 stand, the microphone can be placed inside the kick drum, and the mass-reduced special diaphragm supplies absolute impulse fidelity. The unit includes a transport bag and microphone clamp (MKV99).
