Product Overview

Designed to capture the dynamics and warmth of an electric guitar amplifier, the Radial Engineering JDX 48 Reactor connects between an amp head and speaker cabinet to deliver a sound that is similar to a well-placed microphone while eliminating inconsistencies.

The design of this direct box starts with its discrete class-A circuitry and a transformer-coupled "reactive load" that captures both the sound from the amp head along with the back electromagnetic impulse from the loudspeaker, which helps to produce a more realistic rendering than a typical resistive pad. The signal is then processed via a carefully designed multi-stage filter to emulate the tone of a 4x12 half stack cabinet.

The JDX 48 Reactor delivers consistent sound night after night, and will help reduce your setup time since there's no microphone to worry about finding the perfect spot for. This direct box even works great with bass players as well, as it will provide plenty of low-end punch and low mid-range tone reminiscent of an Ampeg SVT connected to an 8x10 cabinet.
