I purchased this for one reason, it was slightly shorter than all other brands and I needed it to be as short as possible (we were doing 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and one of the actor/spellers was in a wheel chair, so it had to be able to get as low as possible). It worked for the show. That being said, the squeeze grip on the stand is not as comfortable as others I have used and the tension to keep the stand height in place is lower than I would want.
