Ultimate Support said our mic stand was too old & no longer supported. The design of the extension all but guarantees failure... engineers call that "planned obsolescence". There is a tiny, hard rubber nib attached to the end of the metal screw pressing against the extension pipe & fixing it in place. Eventually, normal sideways forces tear the nib off. Once the nib is gone, the screw lacks sufficient reach to clamp the boom. This will be the last Null-timate Support product we purchase. :(
