Product Overview
The TSG-50B generates 13 precision digitally synthesized video test signals/patterns. Wide range of signals are ideal for setting up, aligning, and evaluating the performance of various video equipment found in a typical video editing system, such as video monitors, distribution amplifiers, VCRs, multi-media systems, switchers, effects generators, TBCs, etc. In addition to the video signals, the TSG-50B also generates composite sync and, with a video DA such as the Horita VDA-50, becomes a high quality, multiple output, house sync generator.
Generates the following 13 video test signals:
- Blackburst with 7.5 IRE setup level
- Full field EIA RS-189A color bars
- Flat white field at 100 IRE level (user selectable in place of full field color bars)
- SMPTE EG-1-1990 color bars with "pluge" pattern
- Multiburst of .5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.58, and 4.2 MHz and reference bars
- 5 MHz line frequency sweep with 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 MHz markers
- NTC-7 composite
- 5-step gray scale
- Modulated 5-step gray scale
- Pulse and bar with window and modulated pulse
- Red field
- Convergence pattern 14H x 17V, center dot/lines, safe action
- Monitor setup matrix of convergence, color bars, I/Q with pluge, 5-step gray scale
Features
- Fully RS-170A SC/H phased and always correct. Never requires adjusting.
- Built-in timer can automatically switch video output from video pattern to black and audio tone to silence after 30 to 60 seconds. Makes it easy and convenient to produce tape leaders of color bars and tone followed by black and silence.
- Video signals generated by the TSG-50 are in accordance with industry standard EIA RS-170A video timing specification
- Convenient pattern selection by 12 position front panel rotary switch
- Generates oscilloscope trigger output signal one H line before start of color field 1
- Includes crystal controlled, 1KHz/400Hz, 0dB audio tone output
- Outputs: video, composite sync, 15 Hz ref frame, 1KHz/400Hz, 0dB audio tone (unbalanced)
- 5 additional outputs which may be configured for all blackburst or in various combinations with sync and subcarrier
- Up to 7 black/subcarrier outputs provided on Rackmount and Short Rack models.
