Product Overview

The "Series 180" KM 184 is a non-modular cardioid microphone designed for economy-minded productions and home recording studios. The KM 184 cardioid microphone has become a standard within the global studio community and is equally suitable for a wide variety of applications, including radio and television.

The pressure gradient transducer of the KM 184 features very smooth frequency responses not only for the 0° axis, but also for lateral (off-axis) sound sources.

Although the KM 184 has the same capsule as the KM 84, the microphone differs slightly on the 0° frequency response; The KM 184 has a gentle rise at about 9 kHz, a characteristic of the KM 140. The result is a tonal balance that is more fresh and lively when compared to the KM 84, with its flat frequency response in that particular band.

The mechanical construction of the "Series 180" microphones were simplified, making them a good choice for all users looking for a high-quality miniature microphone, withouth the complex, modular KM 100 system from Neumann.
