A little rough fit but trimming the length prevents getting involved in the threads. Get a bunch. On old mics the originals eventually become caked in spit, beer and unspeakable infected crud that also sounds bad.

It took a few minutes to get the foam spread out evenly on the inside of the microphone, but the result is a perfect fit.

Fit the Shure products PERFECTLY, and I even used a couple on some EV N/D series mics with only slight modifications required for a good fit. Full Compass seems to be the only online retailer selling these perfect matches at a reasonable cost.

I bought these for a couple 545SD mics I've had since the mid '70's . Even though they're marketed for the SM58 , it's the same size ball screen . They fit perfect . I couldn't find these anywhere else . Full Compass Rocks !

I own two dynimic high ball mics i purchased in the 80's from Radio Shack. They are are made byvShure and they are a clone of the sm58. The foam was completly desinagrated from age. This foam fit perfectly inside the metal ball. I also replaced the foam pad on the top of the mic element. The mic now works like new again. Thanks, Full Compass. I'm glad i found you on the net.

is it the same thickness as original or thicker? want a thick and denser one, avoiding putting the exterior windscreen on. thanks let me know.
