Allows Sony's PMW-EX3 hi-def camcorder to utilize IDX battery technology.  The AE2-EX3 adapter fits into the EX3's standard battery mount and allows you to mount an IDX battery to the back of the camcorder - IDX plate is attached to the battery adapter and is oriented to the rear of the camera outside of the battery mount compartment.
