The FBT Hi Maxx Series speakers feature lightweight, yet rugged gas injected moleded polypropylene cabinet construction.

The asymmetrical shape of the Maxx 60a cabinet also allows use as a powered floor stage monitor. The Hi FBT Maxx 60a is a two-way design incorporating a B&C 15" low frequency woofer with neodymium magnet and a B&C 2.5" high frequency driver coupled to a 90°H x 60°V horn. The active internal crossover is at a fixed frequency of 1.2k. With a frequency range of 40Hz-20kHz, the Maxx 60a provides hi fidelity sound for both speech and music applications with a maximum SPL or 135dB: IEC pink noise generated.

A front face steel grille protects the woofer from external damage. FBT's ADAP Advanced Dynamic Active Protection circuitry protects speaker/driver components against failure. The bi-amplified Maxx 60a active speaker features a 700W RMS Class D, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) low frequency amp, and a 200W RMS Class G high frequency amp. The control panel features a combination master gain/volume control, 3 band EQ with +/-15dB of cut/boost @ 80Hz LF, 12dB of cut/boost @ 2.5kHz midrange and +/-15dB cut/boost @ 10kHz, a balanced Neutrik input combo jack (female XLR, 1/4" TRS, 1/4"), balanced XLR link output jack, and ground lift switch, LED power on and separate HF and LF overload LED indicators.

The four M-10 fly points built into the cabinets, along with the optional Box 104 or Box 105 mounting brackets allow the Maxx 60a speakers to be surface mounted on walls or ceilings. A standard 1 3/8" speaker stand socket allows the Maxx 60a to be mounted on speaker stands.
