Small and unobtrusive, Nevaton's MCE400 is a miniature microphone that combines maximum performance with small size and flexibility.  It is ideal for situations where the microphone needs to be hidden or when a stable distance from the sound source is required.  The MCE400 has become the standard for broadcast, feature films, television production, and other areas of the Russian entertainment industry.  It also performs exceptionally when capturing vocals, speech and ambient recordings, or when used for acoustic instruments in both live and studio applications.

The Nevaton MCE400 has very low self-noise of 23dB(A), smooth frequency response, and can handle sound pressure levels up to 135dB.  Its ultra-thin, pre-polarized metal diaphragm makes this microphone suitable for loud sound sources, such as snare drums, but can also be used effectively to capture acoustic instruments of all kinds.  The MCE400 uses Class 'A' transformerless circuitry, balanced outputs, and operates on 9-52V phantom power.  All components are hand selected to guarantee minimal self-noise and the XLR outputs are gold-plated to further ensure noise reduction.

The Nevaton MCE400 is packaged in a plastic box and includes multiple clamps for convenient attachment to clothing or instruments.  A standard windshield and pop filter are included.  All of Nevaton's products are 100% handmade in St. Petersburg, Russia and are carefully tested under laboratory conditions.  The Nevaton MCE400 comes with a two-year extended manufacturer's warranty.
