The A5 News Boom Pole is similar to it's sister product, the G5 News pole, except for the fact that the A5 features high-grade 1.0 mm thick aluminum alloy tubing, which gives the pole exceptional strength.

Lightwave's patented locking system is different in design from all other boom poles on the market.  The locking system uses no metal components in order to remove weight and make the pole easier to clean. The locking system can be completely stripped down for cleaning as well.

The A5 & G5 News boom poles uses a triple-cam lock system instead of the fine metal threads commonly found on other poles. This makes it so only minimal twisting is need to lock or unlock the pole segments and makes it far less likely to jam when dirty.

COILED CABLE OPTION

This option makes it so the pole comes with an internally coiled cable with a straight exit XLR output.

Coiled Cable Specifications:

• Balanced microphone twin with ultra-fine stranded copper cores (50/0.05mm) and a helical screen
• Sheathed in matte-black soft Polyurethane to 3.85 mm diameter
• Neutrik NC3 (XLR-style) connectors with gold-finished pins
• The free cable is 400 mm in length to allow use with all standard shockmount & windscreens
