The Nevaton MC 47 is a large-dual-diaphragm, multi-pattern, stereo condenser microphone with transformerless class-A electronics. It produces an incredible spatial representation and can be used as a main microphone for orchestra recordings, for chamber ensembles, pop concerts, for instruments such as guitar and drums as well as for ambient field recordings. It is well suited for applications in radio and television broadcasting as well as for live concerts and studio sound production. The microphone has excellent transient response. Used in Mono mode the mic has a very high output capability (20mV/Pa) and an exceptional low noise specification. The two large 25-mm diaphragms, placed one above the other, can be simultaneously rotated to provide variable stereo width from 0°up to a maximum of 90°. The ultra-thin and gold-coated diaphragms are made of Poly-Ethylene-Tereftalate-film and give the MC 47 the brilliant and transparent sound it is famous for. All components of the capsules have passed a special artificial aging process to guarantee the stability of their parameters. The internal construction is elastically mounted to attenuate vibrations and handling noise. Additionally the capsules are fixed on special dampers to further reduce mechanical noise.

A small led indicates the presence of phantom power and confirms front position. All input transistors pass a special selection process to guarantee minimal self-noise. The microphone body is made of brass with a dark-gray non-reflective paint finish on an epoxy base. A three-layer metallic grill effectively protects the transducers from electrical and atmospheric interference and contamination from microscopic dust particles. A gold-plated 5-pin XLR-connector in the base mates with the break-out to dual 3 pin XLR cable. Each Nevaton microphone is supplied with its' own individual frequency response chart, and comes as a set with output cable in a fine wooden box. A shockproof clip is also provided.
