The SX7 is the top of Canon's REALiS line of projectors. At 4000 ANSI lumens, it is the brightest, ultra-portable SXGA+ projector Canon makes. It's ideal for demanding users such as graphic designers, publishers and photographers because the SX7 gives the widest range of Adobe RGB color space of any projector. A new AC lamp system delivers greater color fidelity than ever before, with enhanced red and green for more realistic tones. This exceptional projector features new, advanced AISYS technology—with improved light efficiency, uniformity, and expanded color space for outstanding color reproduction. It also boasts a wide variety of features that make it a versatile and easy-to-use performer. Its 1.7x Ultra-Wide Powered Zoom Lens with Auto Focus gives you the widest zoom range of any of Canon's projector lenses while its DVI-I terminal lets you project high-quality video from satellite and digital cable boxes, as well as DVD players and enhanced audio inputs and variable audio output. With Canon LCOS projectors, you get all the brilliance and image sharpness of innovative LCOS technology, but in an ultra-portable and affordable projector unlike any others on the market. It's the right choice for displaying bright, big-screen images without darkening the conference room or classroom.

LCOS - or Liquid Crystal On Silicon - has taken projectors to a whole new level. This technology means higher resolution images, seamless images with no flickering or "screen door" effect, quick image response for better-looking moving images, smooth rendition of fine lines, seamless photo reproduction, sharp display of small text, and crisp blacks.

But only Canon realizes the full potential of LCOS technology by combining it with our proprietary AISYS Engine, our patented optical light engine for achieving brightness and high contrast using LCOS panels. AISYS has three components: the illumination system; the color separation and combination system; and the LCOS panels. Only Canon's innovative, breakthrough AISYS technology achieves the right balance of contrast, brightness and compact size to maximize the performance of LCOS. Plus, our AISYS optical engine features new optical elements, redesigned polarizing beam splitters, and a reconfigured optical layout. The result is improved light efficiency, uniformity and expanded color space.

With the new AC lamp system of the SX7 and the AISYS optical system, the images you project are brighter, with truer color. The purity of red and green is enhanced over that which is possible with conventional DC lamps, giving a more lifelike depth to the colors on the screen. In addition, the new lamp system boasts an extended operating life, up to 2000 hours in normal mode and up to 3000 hours in quiet mode.

The Sharpness You Expect
Razor-sharp images are yours with Canon's new REALiS SX7 projector. The SX7's SXGA+ gives you the crispness of 1400x1050 pixels of resolution - letting you keep pace with the increasing resolution of your notebook computer display. Plus, it lets you display true 16:9 high-definition broadcast images. It even supports UXGA 1600 x 1200(compressed), along with WXGA (1366x768) which is used in today's wide screen laptops)

The 1.7x Ultra-Wide Powered Zoom Lens has the widest zoom range of any of Canon's projector lenses, giving you a diagonal screen size range of 40" (at a very short projection distance of 3.9') to 300". At a short 9.8' distance, you still get a 100" screen. And if that's not enough, the Digital Zoom feature gives you an additional zoom range of 1.7x to 12x. The REALiS SX7 performs in a wide range of room settings, proving that there's more to portability than projector size.

In addition to this quality and flexibility, the SX7 boasts an impressive 1000:1 contrast ratio for sharp images and deep, rich colors - even with ambient light. It also gives you 88% image uniformity for an even image from corner-to-corner.

The optical performance of your SX7 doesn't stop there - because the HDTV compatible SX7 displays uncompressed true 16:9 HDTV broadcast images (720p), giving your audience a high-definition, widescreen experience. It's a cinematic experience that is further enhanced by the projector's 2:3 Pulldown feature on Progressive Scan images. The result is an image with the natural look of film. For added flexibility the SX7 can also display 1080i images with a high-quality compression.

Easy To Use Flexibility
With dimensions of 10.5" W x 13.2" D x 4.5" H (226 x 336 x 114mm) and a weight of only 10.6lbs (4.8kg), the SX7 is an ultra-portable and compact projector that's easy to carry and set up, wherever you need it. And with an array of advanced and well-designed features, it's also extremely easy to use:

Keystone Correction lets you project a perfect image by correcting for keystone distortion of +/- 20 degrees horizontally or vertically. Plus, depending on your requirements, you can use it for rear-projection, or you can mount it on the ceiling with an optional Ceiling Mount Adapter.

The SX7's new Auto Setup feature is quick and accurate. With the touch of a button, it only takes seconds to set up:

• Auto Focus -- your SX7 measures the distance to the screen and makes your projected image razor-sharp
• Auto Input -- the projector automatically detects the input port
• Auto Keystone -- vertical keystone correction is automatically applied
• Auto Screen Color Correction -- the projector automatically compensates for the color of the projection surface

Once it's set up, operating your projector is easy with the help of Guidance Functions that display operating instructions in an on-screen window. For example, it lets you know when your projector doesn't detect an input signal. A Graphical User Interface also makes for easy operation, with three menus for quick access to display settings, image adjustments and system settings. Its well thought-out command hierarchy means you're never more than three steps away from any adjustment or operation you need to make. Illuminated Input Indicators show your projector's connections and operational status at a glance. Plus, front and rear infrared sensors let you control your SX7 with a wireless remote from in front of or behind the projector.

In the classroom or office, the projector's Spotlight feature dims your image except for the area you want everyone to pay attention to. That way, you can make sure your audience sees exactly what you want them to see.

All the while, you can be sure your audience isn't distracted by fan noise. In Normal mode, the SX7 runs at 35dB; and in Quiet mode, it runs at 31dB. Plus, you won't be distracted because you can operate your SX7 effortlessly with the help of the Wireless IR Remote Control with illuminated keys. And the USB mouse function allows users to use the projector remote to operate the mouse of the USB connected computer.

The SX7 even has features that make it simple to turn off. You never have to wait for the projector to cool down before unplugging it and heading to your next meeting - the projector's fan continues to operate, powered by an internal charging system. You can also turn the projector off simply by turning the power off with a control switch - a convenient feature when the projector is mounted on the ceiling and can't be operated directly. Finally, PIN Code Lock and Function Lock allow you to control who can make changes to the projector and prevent tampering with the settings.

You can even operate your projector - and receive alerts - through a LAN with the optional Network Adapter.

The SX7's DVI-I terminal gives you a true digital connection - from source to display. Since it conforms to HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Copy Protection), you can use your SX7 to project high-quality video from satellite and digital cable boxes, as well as DVD players - without any reduction in image quality. (The terminal also accepts an analog signal from your laptop computer, and devices with a VGA terminal.)

To give your presentations the final touch in impressive audio, the SX7 gives you the flexibility of three audio inputs. You can use one audio input for each source you may have (DVI, VGA, and Video). A variable audio output switches automatically when the input source changes and can be connected to amplified speakers or a receiver for high-quality sound. All simple to install and with sound levels controllable from your projector's remote control unit.

Advanced Color Management
With the REALiS SX7, you can select between five Color Modes, each one designed for a different type of projection:

• Adobe RGB is a larger color space, enabling the reproduction of more colors - and is ideal for professional photographic studios, graphic design studios and printers who need to display images with accurate, uniform color. The SX7 gives you the widest range of Adobe RGB color space found in any projector
• Standard mode gives you images closely resembling the original, with an emphasis on white areas
• Presentation mode increases contrast between bright and dark areas, making it easier to see detailed diagrams and text
• sRGB mode is optimized for sRGB images, which includes those produced by many digital cameras
• Movie&Photo mode is for the display of video and digital camera images, clearly defining gradations and improving color reproduction

You can also create custom settings by adjusting seven (7) different aspects (brightness, contrast, sharpness, gamma, and more) for each of the four image modes. Thos means 28 different custom image modes for a perfect picture, no matter what you're viewing.

Your projection screen is your canvas with the SX7's unparalleled color control. An easy-to-use Graphical User Interface lets you adjust your palette of colors to paint the picture you want for your audience.

With Memory/Vivid Color Correction, you can adjust the degree of vividness of each of the primary colors (red, green, blue) and each of the secondary colors (cyan, magenta, yellow). Choose between low, medium, and high to project the image the way you remember it.

Plus, the projector's 6-axis (RGBCMY) Color Adjustment lets you fine-tune the hue and saturation of each of the primary and secondary colors. This high degree of control makes each projected image a masterpiece.

Optional Network Operation
To maximize the usability of the REALiS SX7, an optional Network Adapter is available. With the adapter and the included software, it is possible to operate the SX7 from a networked PC. This makes it simple for an A/V team to operate ceiling mounted or remotely installed projectors from a PC screen, allowing fewer personnel to cover a larger service area.

In addition, alerts can be sent to the PC to give notification of any malfunctions or service issues which may arise in a projector. Numerous projectors may be monitored and controlled from a single PC.
