Momentum fixes the pitfalls of analog audio snakes using digital audio over standard Gigabit Ethernet architecture, which sounds every bit as good as old-school analog wiring but without the hums, buzzes and crackles. It is less expensive to install, easier to use, expandable, flexible and affordable. Momentum uses Burr Brown based preamps and Cirrus Logic A/D and D/A converters. It supports up to 256 channels on 1 copper CAT6 or fiber optic cable. Adding a monitor or record split to a system is simply a matter of adding more output boxes. The use of 8 channel input and output modules allows you to start small and grow as required and they are available with either XLR or Phoenix & DB25 connectors (contractor models) System latency is a scant .5 milliseconds. The 24 channel DSP based Mix Engine uses 16 inputs and mixes them down to 8 mono or 4 stereo outputs. Control is a snap with the "Tweak", the wireless controller that makes it easy to adjust each mix from up to 300 feet away! A dedicated touch screen controller allows for system set up and software based patching without the need for a laptop or other PC controller. An RS232 control port allows the use of Crestron or AMX control for Momentum.
