Compact enough to take on location yet powerful enough to serve as the core of a professional video-editing suite, Avid Mojo hardware connects to both laptop and desktop systems with a single IEEE-1394 (FireWire) cable. Unlike other add-on hardware, Avid Mojo lets you capture audio or video while also providing output of the same source, so you can monitor what you're capturing, including watching video on a client monitor while recording voiceover – impossible with hardware from other manufacturers.

Avid Mojo provides much more than expanded I/O. Its hardware DV codec means that more cycles are available to your computer for other tasks, such as effects processing. You get more real-time effects output and more real-time video streams, simultaneously output to both a broadcast monitor and to tape. The Avid Mojo hardware decoder also scales up draft resolution video for stunning display on a broadcast monitor. And with its ability to display HD media on SD monitors, Avid Mojo provides flexibility for your changing format needs.
