The Periscope™ High Definition Cardioid Microphone Series was originally designed for use as stand-mounted choir microphones. However, when top recording and live sound engineers saw these, they envisioned a whole new world of possibilities. They immediately realized that, with the 4-inch flexible neck and small microphone head, this High Definition Microphone™ could be positioned or placed where other microphones could not, such as under the strings of an acoustic bass. They also saw that the microphone body could be placed parallel to the shell of the drum pointing straight up and the microphone could be pointed straight down at the drum head. It also allowed them to mic guitars and other instruments, then re-position the microphone without moving the stand or boom. It won instant favor. The P30/C has the same specifications as our very popular SR30 and sounds fantastic. The Periscope (cardioid models) and SR30 microphones are our top of the line cardioid microphones with frequency response from 30Hz to 30kHz.
