Sierra Video Systems' Lassen Family of video and audio routing switchers offer full-broadcast routing performance for space-constrained applications in analog, digital, and HD formats. These small and mid-size switchers for composite, SDI, & HD video with analog stereo or AES/EBU audio provide optimal performance and features in a wide variety of matrix sizes. The Lassen Family includes switchers from a 2RU 12x8 up to a mere 3RU 32x32 video & audio routing switcher. Our new routers are an ideal part of live-to-air and post-production facilities, remote trucks, and corporate, scientific, military and educational installations.

The Lassen Family offers flexibility and adaptability to any application where saving space and economics are important. Lassen products offer adjustable audio gain & attenuation on a per-channel basis, the ability to select from the SCP line of advanced, programmable control panels, and interface capability to other Sierra Video Systems router frames. The Lassen Family offers exceptional linear frequency response in critical, on-air switching environments.

Lassen frames have an internal power supply and built in RS-232/ RS-422 control. The additional data port allows for complete control of the routing switcher via Ethernet or dial-up using our simple Tahoe Control System. All Lassen models come standard with front panel control and can be linked to any of the SCP Family control panels for ultimate control of any sized broadcast system. The Lassen Family offers more control, a compact design, and flexibility in software management. Analog, digital and HD routing has never been more compact and powerful.

Format & Size Advantage
Lassen Family routing switchers offer composite video with stereo audio (VS), 360 Mbps HD/SDI video with stereo audio (HDS) and 360Mbps digital video with AES/EBU (DE) or stereo (DS) audio. These compact switchers accommodate two levels and complete control in compact frame sizes. We have fit 32 inputs and 32 outputs of video and audio into a desirable 3RU frame with BNC connectors and Phoenix style audio connectors for easy installation. The 8x, 12x, 16x configurations are a mere 2RU. The Lassen Family offers state-of-the-art, frame accurate switching with an amazing size advantage for compact installations

Connect to Other SVS Routing Switchers
Before the Lassen Family, it was impractical to connect our small RS-422 machine control routers to some of our smaller routers. The Lassen line makes that possible. In addition, the new Lassen routing switchers can be either a Master or a Slave in the control system. Meaning, you can add additional format levels to the Lassen control system, or your can add this routing switcher to an existing Sierra Video Systems router such as a Sierra PRO, Tahoe, Shasta, Yosemite, or Sequoia system.

The Lassen HDS Series is designed for forward-looking broadcast and post-production facilities that want to prepare for transition to HD. The 1616HDS is a compact 2RU router offering digital video boards that allow HD video (SMPTE 292) and SDI video (SMPTE 259) at a data rate up to 360 Mbps. 1616HDS video boards employ BNC connectors.
