Host Cable: 9-Pin D-Sub Female to 8-Pin Din Male. 3 Feet.
Use to connect music keyboard synthesizers to a PC computer via the music keyboard's "Host" output. It's a mini-DIN 8-pin jack on the back of the music keyboard. The cable goes from there to the PC's 9-pin DSub Serial communications port.Note:
Yamaha chose to wire the "Host" output slightly differently on their keyboards. Specifically, the keyboard's 8-pin "Host" output requires a cable that has Pins 4 and 8 shorted in the 8-pin mini-DIN plug. Other manufacturers' keyboards (Alesis, Korg, Roland, etc.) do not require this jumper.
Our original version of DBK-103 and DBK-110 cables did not have that extra connection, thus weren't compatible with Yamaha. Our current version of DBK-103 have been redesigned to work with Yamaha keyboards as well as others. We hope to have a Yamaha compatible version of DBK-110 in the future.
