This single backplate capsule is our version of the unmistakably warm sound ascribed to the great 1950’s tube microphones. A boost in the upper midrange response brings out just the right amount of intimate detail for vocal tracks that demand extra presence.

The B7 has a familiar, classic tube microphone signature, characterized by smooth highs and a forward midrange that is ideally suited to vocals, saxophones, electric guitar, and other instrumental solos. It is the most understated of the BLUE large diaphragm vocal capsule trio, exhibiting a silky, compressed tone and less presence boost than either the B6 or B0. The natural high end response of this capsule is the perfect complement for midrangy or thin voices, as well as any rock/ soul/ blues/ jazz vocals that need to “sit in the mix.”
