The Krix KX-1855 cinema surround loudspeaker offers very high power handling, high efficiency with low frequency extension down to 40Hz (-10dB free space). This two way design uses the highest quality components to deliver effortlessly, the performance demanded by today's dynamic digital sound tracks.

The KX-1855 combines a 10 inch, doped paper cone bass driver, with a nominal 1 3/4 inch voice coil for smooth bass responses at high power. The high frequency dome utilizes a 2 inch voice coil, with 120 degrees horizontal dispersion and 90 degrees vertical dispersion. The choice of a high powered 2 inch dome tweeter was to maximize dispersion and reduce harsh horn style distortion.

Typically the audience seated in the area below the surround would normally experience deep nulls and voids, hence diminishing the movie going experience. This alignment minimizes the deep off axis cancellation problems normally associated with two way systems of this type.
