Sony J30

The J30 is a multi-format utility Betacam player, which plays both oxide and SP analog Betacam, Digital Betacam, IMX and SX tapes. Different tapes are sensed and adjusted for by the machine automatically upon tape insertion. No manual mode switching or playback adapters are required. The J Series is intended for a wide range of applications including general dubbing, conference room viewing, screening, and as a feeder to non-linear editors. It is lightweight and portable enough to be easily moved between work areas. In order to occupy a space efficient small footprint on a desktop, the J series decks can sit on their sides, vertically, using included rubber base supports. The J30 model has analog component video outputs as well as i.LINK. The iLINK output feature provides a handy means to encode analog or digital tapes to 25 Mbs DV and move the files to compatible DV recorders and non linear editing systems.

If your playback requirements do not include IMX or Digital Betacam, the J10 model has the same functionality as the J30 minus the ability to play Digital IMX and Digital Betacam tapes.

J-Series compact players can be ordered in different models to offer a choice of either analog component output or SDI output depending on application requirements. While the J-10 and J-30 offer one set of analog component outputs (BNC x 3) as standard, the J-10 SDI and J-30 SDI offer two SDI (Serial Digital Interface) outputs (BNC x 2) - including one with superimposition capability. Also, one time code output is provided on the J-10 SDI and J-30 SDI models.
