DPA 4011ES Compact Cardioid Mic with Side Entry Cable and XLR Out

Great for unobtrusive spot miking, such as hanging or table use, the DPA Microphones 4011ES Cardioid Microphone is a compact cardioid microphone from the modular 4011 Microphone Series, and replaces the non-modular legacy 4021 Compact Cardioid Condenser Mic. The mic itself has a length of just 3.5cm (1.4"), and offers a low-key appearance. It includes an integrated cable solution with side cable entry, thus enabling it to be hung from the ceiling, and allows precise, repeatable angling and positioning when spot-miking orchestra sections or capturing atmospheric ambience. Its first-order cardioid polar pickup pattern offers quality separation between sound sources.

It's capable of handling high SPLs without distortion, as well as minimizing bleed from other instruments, so it's ideal for close-miking of instruments like acoustic guitar, drums, or grand piano. With its accessories, it can even be placed, for instance, within the frame of a piano.

Totally faithful reproduction of the original sound comes from its flat on-axis frequency response and excellent phase response, and its off-axis response is similarly smooth so that any leakage heard is an accurate reflection of the original, though attenuated according to the true first-order cardioid pickup polar pattern.

Part of a flexible microphone series, at any time you want, and with no tools necessary, you can transform the 4011ES into a new configuration (additional capsules/preamplifiers sold separately).
