Product Overview

The ideal mic solution for live recording and PA amplification of acoustic upright bass, DPA Microphones' 4099-DC-1-201-B reproduces a sound that's considerably more natural and realistic than an internal mic or pickup. There are several excellent placement possibilities on the instrument employing its flexible design.

Both designed and optimized for the double bass, this mic and its mounting system assure that the best placement and audio reinforcement is achieved when performing live. The mic clip mounts to the E- and G-string below the bridge, helping to ensure proper mic placement within the sweet spot between the bridge and fingerboard.

The standard gooseneck length is 5.5" (140mm), although it can be extended using the optional gooseneck extension unit (sold separately), adding another 50% to the length if necessary, and helping to locate the instrument's exact "sweet spot".

The 4099 range features a detachable cable from the gooseneck, providing more convenience for mounting the mic on an instrument before connecting it. Furthermore, the choice of different cable qualities makes it possible to tailor your mic to the specific situation, such as choosing the heavy-duty 2.2mm cable for PA/Live gigs, or the easier-to-hide, thinner, miniature cabling for personal mounting on instruments where the cable weight may interfere with-and impede-your performance. And in case of a cable failure, service is quick and easy. Also featured is a MicroDot cable termination which enables use with many leading wireless mic systems using a range of available adapters (adapters sold separately). These adapters provide you with flexible, simple, and affordable possibilities; no longer are you bound to one wireless system – as your circumstances change, you can just swap your adapter, rather than incurring the cost of a whole new microphone. And when you make the switch, you won't hear any loss or change in sound quality.

From pianissimo to forte, you'll experience clear open sound, with minimized distortion and increased dynamic range. the 4099-DC-1-201-Bcaptures everything

from the ‘highest of the highs to the ‘lowest of the lows,’ further distancing these mics from their competitors.
